My son saved up his change to go buy a $2 bill. He asked if the government has gold or silver for the "pay to the bearer on demand" statement. I said "no". He then asks if they can print money whenever they want. I said "that's what they've been doing." He says "that doesn't make sense. How can that work? I bet they print a lot." "Yep", I said.
I'm glad he already gets it at age 8.
